The National Academy for Finance and Economics organizes the Shiraka Public Financial Management Training since 2013. This programme is organized in cooperation with the ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the ministry of Finance and is open for participants in 11 countries in Northern Africa and the Middle East. The focus of the training is on reforms of public expenditure management, modernization of the national budgets and on the exchange of best practices in the participating countries.
The training consists of a training week in The Hague and a training week in the region. This year the first week took place in the beginning of March 2020 in The Hague. In total 25 participants took part in the training. The second part was already planned for April 2020 in Amman, Jordan. Unfortunately we also had to postpone this part due to the worldwide pandemic. This part was transferred into an online training course, that started in September 2020.
